| The
BPL offers wireless connections to the Library's Internet service
in all of our locations. Direct plug-in ports are also available
only in Bates Hall in the Central Library. If you are bringing in
your own laptop and wish to use our Internet connection you will
need:
- A wireless network
interface card, 802.11b or later
- To configure
your laptop to use the Library's Internet connection
- A charged battery.
Specially designated electrical outlets are available at some,
but not all, BPL locations
- Compatible headphones
if you plan to use audio files
- For direct plug-in
access in Bates Hall you will also need to bring a 5 ft. patch
cable.
Please note that
the Library cannot assist you with your laptop, card or configuration.
The Library cannot accept the liability of handling your equipment.
Step 1
- Change the IP address that your laptop uses.
Step 2
- Open your web browser. Accept the security certificate that
the Library's system sends. You will then be asked to log in. Once you have done this the
Library's home page will come up and you are ready to use our
wireless system.
