Boston Regional 
Library System		 The Boston Regional Library System's services are provided through state funds administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The Regional program provides support services to its members, which include public, school, academic, and special libraries located within the cities of Boston, Chelsea, and Malden. Founded in 1997, the BRLS's mission is to improve the delivery of library services to individuals of all ages, educational levels, and economic backgrounds.
 
Administrative 
Headquarters		 The Boston Public Library serves as the Administrative Headquarters for the BRLS. As the Headquarters, it provides a range of services to the public and to member libraries, including reference and information services, interlibrary loan, advisory and technical assistance, staff development/continuing education, and delivery of books and other library materials.

 The Boston Public Library's Regional Services Office coordinates planning and development of Regional services delivered through various departments of the Library and also provides some services directly. The BRLS Advisory Council, representing member libraries and their users, advises the Boston Public Library in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Boston Region Plan of Service.
