Youth Services

BRLS works with member libraries and the other MA Regional Library Systems to develop supporting programs for youth and children's librarians. Programs include the Statewide Summer Reading Program, continuing education opportunities, and collaborative programs with other cultural institutions.

2004 Statewide Summer Reading Program Online Resource Manual
This is our second year to offer the Summer Reading manual in Massachusetts in electronic format. Browse the rich resources compiled by fellow librarians across the state and use what you like to create your own unique program based on the central theme.

We're here to help you prepare for your library's best summer ever! Join us for both of these programs if you can.

Creative Ways to Promote your Summer Reading Program
Mary Jo Maichack, a professional storyteller, will help with publicity, press releases, child-crowd-control techniques, and will debut her theme song for "Explore Other Worlds @your library."

For the third year, Adina Sabgir and all the talented folks at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston are developing a dynamic day full of workshops, activities, discusssions to support "Explore Other Worlds @your library."
