Dudley Front Entrance Project

by Christine Schonhart

You may have noticed a flurry of activity at the Dudley branch library over the past few months as crews work on upgrades to lighting and electrical systems. This is part of the first phase of work being done to create a new, exciting, and welcoming entrance at the branch which will include a large sign with the library and branch name, lighting that can change colors and mechanical shades in the community room.

Staff from the Library and Property and Construction Management recently visited the sign fabricator shop to see a mock up of a panel that will make up the new signage. The images below show what the sign might look like in the daylight and when it’s illuminated (there are a number of colors available, and a single color has not yet been chosen).

Installation is expected to be complete in the spring of 2014.
