Central Library Retail Space – Request for Proposals available

by Christine Schonhart

The Request for Proposals for the Johnson building retail space was published on March 16. The RFP will be open for eight weeks, with bids due on May 11. Information was published in the Secretary of State’s Goods & Services Bullet and on the City’s website through the “City Record.”

To maximize public awareness of this retail opportunity, the Library is working with The Dartmouth Company, a commercial real estate company specializing in retail leasing, to market the space to potential retail partners. The Dartmouth Company is distributing the RFP to their extensive list of real estate brokers and are reaching out directly to specific organizations and retailers they believe may be in line with the vision for the space. Additionally, The Dartmouth Company has designed a temporary banner placed on the entrance of the Johnson building to bring attention to the project. Anyone interested in receiving a copy of the RFP may contact Carl Lehto or Ed Maheigan in the Business Office (617-859-2364)
