Have you seen our Bibliocycle? Because it’s awesome!

Posted on July 31st, 2015 by Christine Schonhart in Library Services

This is the second year the Boston Public Library has offered outreach services via our bike-riding librarians on the Bibliocycle. So far, they have visited 22 locations, checked out 89 books, chatted with 631 visitors, and signed up 23 people for library cards. Today, our brave bikers are actually biking from Mission Hill to East Boston so you may see them at spots throughout the City.

Check us out at these upcoming events:

Saturday August 5th – East Boston Farmers Market (3 p.m. – 5 p.m.)

Sunday August 9th – August Moon Festival (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

Monday August 17th – South Boston Farmers Market (1 p.m. – 3 p.m )

The Bibliocycle is back!

Posted on June 2nd, 2015 by Christine Schonhart in Library Services

The Boston Public Library is proud to announce the return of the Bibliocycle – coming to a farmers’ market or community festival near you. Launched in 2014 by a group of ‘bike-minded’ librarians, the Bibliocycle is a small cart full of books for all ages, pulled through the streets of Boston by your local staff. In addition to borrowing books and getting a library card, this year, you can check out magazines or come to a pop-up story time for kids.

Your organization can request a visit by the  Bibliocycle team by visiting this page and clicking “Request a Bibliocycle Visit”. A team member will get back to you to get further information and to let  you know if we are able to fit your event into the schedule (also posted on the site).

Thank you to Boston Bikes for their continued support of the Bibliocycle.
