Boston Public Library - Get an eCard
BPL eCards are virtual library cards that give users limited access to online library resources. Once registered successfully, you will be emailed a barcode number that you can use to log in to our online services with a 4-digit PIN of your choice.
You do not need an eCard if you have a physical Boston Public Library card. Your physical card allows you all the benefits of an eCard (and more). Only one card of either type is permitted per individual.
Individuals who live in, own property in, or commute to work in Massachusetts may register for anĀ eCard. To learn more about BPL eCards, visit our eCard frequently asked questions.
If you encounter any difficulty using this form, please email webmaster@bpl.org.

Location Warning
Please note: We can't determine whether the computer or device you're using is currently located in Massachusetts. Sometimes we get incorrect information when we try to determine this during registration, so don't worry. Please finish registering now. We'll try to confirm your location manually with another service within the next couple days.
If we still can't determine your location, we'll check public records to validate the information you gave us on the registration form. Any registrations found to be ineligible will be deactivated without notice.
