Boston Public Library - Get an eCard

BPL eCards are virtual library cards that give users limited access to online library resources. Once registered successfully, you will be emailed a barcode number that you can use to enjoy the following services:

  • Electronic Resources
  • OverDrive downloadable audio, video, music, and eBooks

You do not need an eCard if you have a physical Boston Public Library card. Your physical card allows you all the benefits of an eCard (and more). Only one card of either type is permitted per individual.

To learn more about BPL eCards, visit our eCard frequently asked questions page.

PLEASE NOTE: A valid Massachusetts home or work address is required for both eCard and regular Library Card registration.
