The Numbers Are Amazing!

by Russell Hansen

The numbers are in and they are nothing short of amazing!

For 2013, 3.7 million people visited the Boston Public Library… and 7.8 more visits were made to the library’s website, They borrowed, viewed or downloaded 3.7 million books, movies, articles, and songs from a collection of 23 million, and they took part in more than 10,000 free programs, lectures, classes, and concerts.

These huge numbers emphasize how important your library is to the City of Boston and to the Commonwealth.

The Boston Public Library Foundation is dedicated to serving the cultural, educational, and informational needs of the public. With the support from individuals from you, the BPLF supports the library’s founding principle: that the resources available within the Boston Public Library are, and must always remain, free to all.
