When visiting our web site, our web server automatically logs (records) domain name and standard information about the operating system and web browser you are using, as provided by your web browser. This information is used for statistical purposes to help us manage our site, but it does not identify you in any way.
We collect personal information about you only if you volunteer it through our website, sign-in sheets at events, and/or make a donation. We may use this information to contact you for support purposes and to answer questions. All information is kept confidential.
We collect email addresses that are voluntarily provided to us so that we may send email news briefings in the future. Registered subscribers can remove their names from our subscriber list at any time by notifying us at email@example.com.
The Boston Public Library Foundation makes donations easy for you. You can donate online to the Boston Public Library Foundation. The website supports authentication for the page you are viewing when making a donation. The identity of the website has been verified by our credit card processing vendor.
The page you view while processing payment is encrypted before being transmitted over the internet. Encryption makes it very difficult for unauthorized people to view information traveling between computers. It is therefore very unlikely that anyone reads the page as it travels across the network.
We maintain records of all contributions to the Boston Public Library Foundation. All information is kept private and confidential, stored in a secure location and accessible only by authorized staff and board.
The Boston Public Library Foundation appreciates the great support of our donors and may publish donor recognition lists in its annual reports, publications and/or website. If you would like to remain anonymous in recognitions, please contact the Foundation at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-247-8980 to remove your name from recognition.
