The 20th Annual Boston Public Library Foundation Gala

Posted on November 20th, 2013 by Russell Hansen in Foundation

The 2013 Boston Public Library Foundation Gala was a huge success, raising over $775,000 to support the Boston Public Library! The event, held on Friday, November 15th, took place entirely in the Johnson Building for the first time. Over 300 people dined, danced, and supported the work of the Foundation and the Out-of-school Time programs of the library.  We are honored to have awarded the first Joshua Bates Prize for the Advancement of Learning Thomas M. Menino for his visionary leadership and his dedication to the Boston Public Library. A special thank you to our lead sponsor, Fidelity Investments, as well as the other generous sponsors who made this year such a success. Enjoy these beautiful photographs from Life Fusion Photography that showcase the event. Click on the photos to see a video slideshow.

Posted on December 19th, 2012 by Alison Murphy in Foundation

This year’s fall gala was a huge success, bringing in more than $600,000 for the library. We raised over $100,000 for the BPL’s newest youth initiative, Out-of-school Time—enough to fund an entire year’s programming for 16 branches! A special thank you to our lead sponsor, Fidelity Investments, as well as the other generous sponsors who made this year such a success.
