Green Line to Copley Station.

Orange Line to Back Bay/South End Station. Walk down Dartmouth Street to Copley Square.

By car

Interstate 93 (from north or south) Take Storrow Drive exit. Take Copley Square exit off of Storrow Drive. The exit deadends at a signal light. The cross street is Beacon. Take a right on Beacon Street. While on Beacon Street, you will cross Berkeley, Clarendon, and Dartmouth Streets. The next street is Exeter. Take a left onto Exeter (it is a one-way street). While on Exeter, you will cross Marlborough Street, Commonwealth Avenue, and Newbury Street. The next cross street is Boylston. The Library is on the corner of Exeter and Boylston Streets.

Mass Pike (Interstate 90) Come all the way into the city on the Mass Pike. Take the Copley Square exit (the sign will read: Prudential Center, Copley Square). The exit road will split, follow the Copley Square (right) lane. You will exit the tunnel onto Stuart Street. You will be on the right hand side of the street. Move to the lane furthest left. Take the left at the next light, Dartmouth Street (approximately 500 feet from the tunnel exit). The Library is on the left of Dartmouth Street, after the next light (approximately 500 feet).

Blue Line or Green Line to Government Center Station. Court Street is behind you as you exit from the station. Cross to the other side of Court Street, and walk down one-half block. Turn right just after the School Committee Building onto Court Square. The Library is about one-half block on the left.

Orange Line to State Street Station. If you exit at the Old State House, turn left onto Washington Street. Cross the street to Pi Alley, and walk down the Alley until it ends. The Library is on your left. Or, if you exit at the Old South Meeting House, cross Washington Street and walk up School Street one-half block. Turn right after the Talbots and Brookstone Co., onto City Hall Avenue. The Library is one-half block down on the right.

Red Line to Park Street Station. Walk up Tremont Street, and turn right at the Parker House Hotel, onto School Street. One-half block down, just past the Old City Hall, turn left onto City Hall Avenue. Library is about one-half block down on the right.

By car:

From Mass. Pike: Take exit 20 and head to Allston/Brighton.  Stay straight on Cambridge Street.  At second light, take a right. (Hess Gas Station).  Library is 4 blocks down on the right.

From Storrow Drive: Take Harvard/Cambridge exit.  From the North take a left at the traffic light.   From the South take a right at the traffic light.  You are on North Harvard Street.  Stay straight at Western Avenue traffic light.  Library is 4 blocks down on the the left.

From Route 93: take Massachusetts Avenue/Roxbury exit. Go straight onto Melnea Cass Blvd. Fourth light is Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington, proceed to the second light: this is Dudley Street. Turn left onto Dudley Street First building on the right is the Police Station, the next is the Library: 65 Warren Street.

From Massachusetts Turnpike: Take Masschusetts Avenue exit. Take a right and travel down Mass. Avenue to Washington Street (about one mile). Take a right onto Washington Street and continue about ½ mile to Dudley Street and turn left. Library will be on the right at intersection of Dudley and Warren Streets.

From Route 9: travel down Route 9 east (Boylston Street in Brookline) until you get to Huntington Avenue (beneath an overpass). Proceed straight up Huntington Avenue to Tremont Street. Take right onto Tremont Street and continue on Tremont to intersection of Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue (Roxbury Crossing MBTA stop is on your right). Travel straight through this intersection-- you will be on New Dudley Street (Madison Park High School is on your left). Travel to the end of New Dudley Street. The Street becomes Dudley Street at Washington Street Drive (one block) and Library will be on the right at intersection of Dudley and Warren Streets.

The Parker Hill Branch is approximately 2 blocks up, and next door to the Mission Church.

By car: From downtown, drive south on Huntington Avenue to Tremont Street and Brigham Circle. By the Southwest Corridor Park bike-path, head west on Tremont Street at the Roxbury Crossing T Station.
