Spacer graphic Carol Fulp is the Senior Vice President of Brand Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility for John Hancock Financial. She oversees advertising, sponsorships, event management, and philanthropy for this company that the New York Times cited as one of the 100 most recognizable brands of the century. Fulp previously held senior management positions at WCVB-TV, Boston’s ABC-TV affiliate, as well as the Gillette Company.

Fulp serves on the corporate board of directors of American Student Assistance. She was appointed by Governor Patrick as a trustee to the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority and she was appointed by Mayor Thomas M. Menino as trustee for the Boston Public Library. In addition, she serves on the Women’s Leadership Board of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and is a trustee of the WGBH Educational Foundation and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, where she co-chaired the Profiles in Courage Awards Dinner.

Fulp received the Living Legend Award from the Museum of Afro-American History as well as the distinguished Eleanor Roosevelt Award from the Massachusetts Democratic Party. She is ranked 12th among Boston Magazine’s “100 Most Powerful Women in Boston.” The magazine also cited her as one of the “10 Most Interesting Women to Watch.”

Fulp is a graduate of the University of the State of New York receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies. She is a resident of Boston and is married to C. Bernard Fulp, Chairman of Go-Biz Solutions and founder of Middlesex Bank & Trust Company.
