Joint Committee on the Investigation of the Pearl Harbor Attack
The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on the 7th of December 1941 is one of the deadliest attacks on American soil by foreign armed forces. The attack precipitated the United States involvement in the Second World War. At the conclusion of the war, a Joint Congressional Committee was established “make a full and complete investigation of the facts relating to the events and circumstances leading up to or following the attack.”
