Did you know there is an easy way to download historical stock prices (adjusted close) for multiple companies over multiple days into spreadsheet format using Google Finance?
Below is a quick tutorial:
Step 1. Sign up for a Google Drive account.
Step 2. In Google Drive select: Create > Spreadsheet
Step 3. In cells B2:B8 enter your ticker symbols.
Step 4. In rows C1:F1 enter your desired dates.
Step 5. In cell C2 enter formula:
=INDEX(GoogleFinance($B2,ʺcloseʺ,C$1),2,2)
Step 6. Copy cell C2 to cells D2,E2,F2
Step 7. Copy cells C2:F2 down to C8:F8
The stock prices will load, and voilà, you’re done!
