Tax Freedom Day Arrives in Massachusetts on April 25

Tax Freedom Day is the day when Americans finally have earned enough money to pay off their total tax bill for the year.

According to the Tax Foundation, in 2013, Massachusetts taxpayers worked until April 25th (4th latest nationally) to pay their total tax bill. The Tax Freedom Days of neighboring states are: Rhode Island, April 19th (ranked 12th latest nationally); Connecticut, May 13th (ranked latest nationally); New York, May 6th (ranked 2nd latest nationally); New Hampshire, April 15th (ranked 21st latest nationally); and Vermont, April 14th (ranked 25th earliest nationally).
