United States Ranks 20th out of 142 Countries on the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2014

The World Economic Forum is an international institution committed to improving the state of the world through public-private cooperation.   It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Global Gender Gap Index was first introduced by the World Economic Forum in 2006 as a framework for capturing the magnitude of gender-based differences and tracking their progress.The Index benchmarks national gender gaps on economic, political, education and health criteria. It provides country rankings that allow for effective comparisons across regions and income groups.
