Formerly known as LearnATest, the LearningExpress Library offers a nice selection of practice exams for the GED, College Prep, MTEL, Citizenship and more.

Jobs & Careers
For those needing to prepare for licensing or certification in their given field, you’ll find interactive practice exams for the Civil Service, Culinary Arts, Law Enforcement, Nursing, Plumbing, and Real Estate among others.

Job Search and Workplace Skills
Brush up on your Business Writing skills with one of their eCourses, or download an eBook on a topic such as Resume Writing, Social Networking for Career Success, or Public Speaking.

Circulating Test Prep/Study Collection
We also have many circulating test prep materials available for check out.  Speak with a Reference Librarian for further assistance or search our catalog for availability.

Are you getting ready to hunker down for Winter Storm Q this afternoon? While the storm is predicted to be less severe than Nemo, it’s always good to be prepared.

The SBA  has assembled worksheets and resources to help you prepare your business for the next disaster.  Along with clean up, recovery, and disaster planning, the SBA has disaster specific information too, including:

  • Hurricanes
  • Winter Weather
  • Earthquakes
  • Tornadoes
  • Wildfires
  • Floods
  • Cyber Security
  • Workplace Hazards & First Aid

It never hurts to prepare your home for a disaster, as well.  Ready.gov has guides to help prepare you and your family for emergencies.

The site also showcases a unique map of historical storms and disasters. When you click on each state you can see what was happening the day before an incident as compared to the aftermath. If you have been putting off distaster planning for your home or business, this map might make you think twice.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance(VITA) has a very large program at Bunker Hill Community College. Their service hours from January 29-April 16, 2013 are:

Tuesday: 10am – 7pm
Wednesday: 10am – 7pm
Thursday: 10am – 1pm and 2:15-4pm
Friday: 10am – 4pm
Saturday: 10am – 3pm
