Dear Parents and Students entering Grade 4, The students entering grade four at Sacred Heart School will be required to read three books during the summer months. Reading not only keeps the brain and the imagination active, it also helps in sharpening skills already learned. The following books were chosen to give the students an opportunity to read stories by different authors with a variety of characters and settings. 1. Fourth Grade Rats by Jerry Spinelli 2. Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary 3. Charlotte's Web by E.B. White To keep the story fresh in their minds, students will also be required to write a brief summary similar to the outline on the reverse side.
