  • Please note: All Boston Public Library locations will be open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, and closed on Thursday, November 26, in observance of Thanksgiving.
  • BPL card holders can access more than 300 free six-week online Gale Courses, with topics including project management, guitar, grant writing, video editing, and more.
  • The Rare Books Department at the Central Library in Copley Square will be closed through November for maintenance. During this time, all Boston Public Library rare books and manuscript materials will be unavailable for viewing. Please note that many items from the Rare Books Department are available online through the Digital Commonwealth or Internet Archive. We apologize for any inconvenience. The Friends of the South Boston Branch host a sale of adult and youth books and AV materials at low prices. All proceeds benefit the South Boston Branch of the Boston Public Library.
