New & Noteworthy

  • All Boston Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, February 15, in observance of Presidents' Day.
  • The Rare Books Reading Room at the Central Library will be temporarily closed to the public from Tuesday, February 16 through Friday, February 19 to make improvements to the space, including the installation of new carpet. During this time, all Boston Public Library rare books and manuscript materials will be unavailable for viewing. Please note that many items from the Rare Books Department are available online through Digital Commonwealth or the Internet Archive.
  • Registration for the series BPL Yoga: Intelligence for Body, Mind, & Soul at the Central Library is full due to popular demand. Registered spots will be held until 11:55 a.m. the day of the class, at which time they will be released to a yogi who is present. Classes are held Tuesdays at noon through February 16.
  • BPL card holders can access more than 300 free six-week online Gale Courses, with topics including project management, guitar, grant writing, video editing, and more.
