With all of the drug recalls and television ads touting the latest prescription medicines, people need reliable information, so Walgreens and the Boston Public Library are working together to help people make sense of their prescriptions.
Five BPL branches will host seminars on this important topic in the month of March. Local Walgreens pharmacists will offer a presentation titled “Beyond the Label” and will answer questions from the audience.
Everyone who attends will be provided lunch, have a chance to win a raffle and will take home free giveaways.
The seminars will be held at the following dates and locations: Adams Street Branch, 690 Adams Street, Dorchester, Faneuil Branch, 419 Faneuil Street in Brighton and the Egleston Square Branch in Roxbury on Saturday, March 12; and at the Codman Square branch, 690 Washington Street, Dorchester and the Roslindale Branch at 4238 Washington Street on Saturday, March 19.
All seminars start at 11:30 a.m.
The seminars are part of the national Be Well Informed @ your library® program, developed by Walgreens and the American Library Association. As part of the program, Boston Public Library will be one of 10 library systems throughout the country to host a series of health education seminars focusing on today’s top health concerns.
Other seminars that the Boston Public Library and Walgreens will host include managing the cost of medicine, the best use of over-the-counter medication, and diabetes, asthma and heart disease. Seminars will take place at the same library branches through November.
