Where can I pick up tax forms?
The Boston Public Library
The Central
Library in Copley Square- on the second floor of the McKim Building. The Government
Documents Department-and the Branch Libraries receive a limited supply of the most commonly used federal and state tax forms, such as the 1040 series and
the Massachusetts individual forms. Please call 617-859-2226 for availability.
Please remember that the staff of the Boston Public Library cannot help you with your
taxes. We are a distribution site for forms and publications.
For less commonly used forms, the
Government Documents Department has a set of reproducible tax forms that may be
photocopied for fifteen cents per page. Please contact the
Library for more information on tax forms.

Where can I
get help with my taxes?
Central Library:
Volunteer Tax Assistance Program will not be offered at Copley Square this year.
The American Association of Retired
Persons Tax-Aide Program provides free tax assistance to middle- and low-income
taxpayers aged 60 and older in 10,000 convenient places across the country.

Income Credit Assistance Program
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR)
both write booklets designed to answer tax questions. Many of these publications are
available in the Government Documents Department of the Boston Public Library or can be
ordered directly from both the IRS and the DOR in the same way as tax forms.
