Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council

The Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (NEMSDC), formerly known as
the New England Minority Purchasing Council (NEMPC), was founded in 1974 and
incorporated in 1975 as a nonprofit organization. The founders were a small
group of minority business owners and purchasing managers from major New
England corporations who wanted to develop an organization to facilitate
the entry of minority firms into the mainstream economy. Today the
Council is an association of 350 certified suppliers and close to 100
corporations and institutions.

The mission of the Small and Local Business Enterprise Office (S/LBE) is to create
economic opportunity by certifying the availability of small business enterprises,
small Boston-based business enterprises, and also minority-owned and woman-owned
business enterprises, to City departments and advocating on behalf of these
businesses to help them compete successfully for City contracts, as well as
in the Boston area's economy as a whole. Once certified, the companies will
be placed in the S/LBE Directory, which is distributed free of charge to all
City departments, agencies, general contractors, private sector businesses,
and organizations.

The Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), founded in 1997, is the
nation's leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America's
corporations. It also is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned
and operated by women in the United States. WBENC works in partnership with
women's business organizations located throughout the country to provide a
national standard of certification for women-owned businesses. If your
