Have you had the chance to visit the new teen area in the East Boston Branch? The new branch has been open since November 2nd, and we’ve had quite a number of teens frequent the library after school.  We have a total of 13 computers available for teens to use only, and we also lend out laptops to  be used in the library.  In the past months we’ve been offering programs specific to teens, such as Zuma classes, Art & Crafts programs, and Wii Gaming.  Our Teen Council met before the holidays to get together to create gingerbread houses.

What is coming up for the next month? We will continue to offer Art & Crafts and Wii Gaming afternoons. Our  Teen Council will continue to meet  every other Saturday at 2:00 p.m. We also have a Teen Book Club, we are currently reading More Than This by Patrick Ness and we meet the last Wednesday of every month.  We are also in the process of creating a Teen Anime Club. There will also be a Bike Program for teens coming up in the months of February and March.  Keep checking the Events page to find out the latest information on programs available for teens at the East Boston Branch.
