Unless otherwise indicated, classes do not require registration.

The Central Library: The Community Learning Center Classroom is located on the Mezzanine Level of the Boylston Street Building of the Central Library and is open during classes and workshops held throughout the week. Contact us at 617.859.2323 or email computerworkshops@bpl.org

Branch Libraries: Classes are held throughout locations of the Boston Public Library. You can find classes at the branches by accessing the online calendar.

Services Offered

Classes and workshops are held on a wide range of topics, including:

  • Beginner level, basic computer classes for those with little to no experience, on iOS El Capitan (Mac) and Windows 10 platforms
  • Internet basics, evaluating websites, and internet safety
  • Job searching and resume assistance
  • Email, online tools
  • eBooks and eReaders
  • Smartphones and Tablets
  • Orientations to library e-resources, databases, and the catalog
  • Social Media
  • Introductions to Microsoft Office programs
  • Learning Circles: take a class online and meet in the library once a week to talk about the class
