Boston Public Library Fund
Engraved over the entrance to the Central Library in Copley Square are the words “Free to All.” We take seriously this mission to provide education and enrichment free to all through our collections, services, programs, and spaces.
Gifts to the Boston Public Library Fund helps bring our collections to life through high-impact programs in areas like author talks, children’s literacy, teen tech, job skills, senior activities, and much, much more. It also supports investments in cutting edge technology for our patrons to use, and the preservation and digitization of our extensive, museum quality collections.
Last year (2018) alone, the Library circulated more than 5 million objects, offered more than 1.6 million book and audiobook downloads, and provided 13,000 educational programs. Your support helps us continue this important work.
