Boston Library Consortium

Boston Library Consortium (BLC) is an association of academic and research libraries located in the Northeastern United States. BLC is dedicated to sharing resources to advance the research and learning of its members. Boston Public Library offers consortium cards that provide access to services at other BLC member institutions, including:

  • On-site use of some member libraries. (Contact the individual libraries for detailed information).
  • Interlibrary loan
  • Limited borrowing privileges from member libraries

Borrowing privileges and expiration dates vary at each member institution. Please note that there are different loan periods and fine structures at each library. You are responsible for any charges you accrue. Failure to abide by lending library rules may result in the loss of library privileges at all Consortium libraries.
