Research Services offers 30-minute appointments to support researchers in areas such as:

• Understanding and finding resources available through the BPL
• Introduction to genealogy research
• Assistance using a specific database or tool (i.e. microfilm reader)

Librarians are available to meet virtually or in-person at the Central Library. A BPL library card is required to obtain an appointment.

• Appointments are typically held 1-3 weeks from the date of request submission. Wait time varies, but no appointments are held less than 7 days from form submission.
• Appointment date/time will be managed by the assigned librarian and is subject to change. As a reminder, BPL is not open on holidays.
• Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate appointments on the weekends.
• Non-Massachusetts residents are not eligible for an appointment

How to request:

• Fill out the request form and submit for approval.
• The Library will get back to you within 2 business days if your request has been approved or needs further information
• If approved, a librarian will communicate with you on a date/time to meet.
