Movember, a charity organization officially established in 2006, is the only global charity focused solely on men’s health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's mental health.
Movember originated in Australia in 2003 as the idea of two friends, Travis Garone and Luke Slattery, who wanted to bring mustaches back into fashion.
The name Movember is a blend of the Australian slang word for mustache, mo, and November, the month in which it takes place. During Movember, men are challenged to grow a mustache, and women and children can adorn fake ones to help raise funds for the foundation.
