Boston Public Library to Host Free Rotating Ice Cream Trucks Outside Its Branch Locations for Two Weeks as Part of Mayor Janey’s Joy Agenda

BOSTON — August 20, 2021 — The Boston Public Library will host free ice cream trucks outside its branch locations during the last two weeks of August as part of Mayor Janey’s Joy Agenda, an initiative to spread joy throughout the City of Boston. Two vendors, Super Star Ice Cream and Frosty Ice Cream, will go on a “BPL Joy Ride” to all currently open BPL locations Monday through Thursday, August 23–26, and again Monday through Friday, August 30 – September 3 to help patrons and community members keep cool and enjoy a free treat.

WHAT: BPL Joy Ride: Traveling Ice Cream Trucks Outside BPL Branches 

WHO: Super Star Ice Cream (August 23–26) and Frosty Ice Cream (August 30 – September 3) 

WHEN & WHERE: Branch staff will be available to direct patrons toward the parked ice cream trucks. Branch addresses can be found at bpl.org/locations.
