Genealogy Workshops at the Central Library, starting 1/22!

Genealogy and family history research is a popular pastime these days, especially with the advent of DNA testing and the popularity of TV shows like Who Do You Think You Are? and Finding Your Roots. The BPL is home to many collections and resources that can be useful to amateur genealogists and family historians. These resources are for all skill levels, whether you’re just starting out, or have been at it long enough to become an expert.

We’re pleased to offer a series of classes that will provide an overview of genealogy resources at the BPL and offer an introduction to genealogical research. Materials covered in the class will include databases the BPL subscribes to, government produced documents & resources, maps, newspapers, books, and more! Classes will be held Tuesday afternoons beginning 1/22, from 1-3pm, through 2/26.

It is strongly encouraged, but not required, that anyone interested attend all sessions. Basic computer and internet skills are required. Registration is not required. For any questions, please contact computerworkshops@bpl.org
