- Branch Library Friends Groups. Note: Most branches of the Boston Public Library have their own friends group. To donate with particular branch's friends group, contact that branch library.
- City-Wide Friends of the Boston Public Library
Yes. We accept volunteers to help with giving tours, providing literacy tutoring, and as members of our branch friends groups and the City-Wide Friends of the Boston Public Library. To learn more about volunteering or express your interest, please be in touch by email or by phone at 617.859.2304.

Small donations (one box or one bag) of books, may be dropped off at any time during normal hours of operation at the Borrower’s Services Desk at the Central Library. If you would like to donate books at Neighborhood Branches, please call ahead of time.
All donations are first offered to the BPL for acquisition, with the majority being sold at the next Citywide Friends of the Boston Public Library (CWF) book sale. All proceeds from the book sales are used to support the programming and off-budget needs of the library.
