Nutrition Lab: Program Proposal
Thank you for your interest in teaching a class on Nutritional Literacy. The Nutrition Lab is located at the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library at 146 Dudley Street, Roxbury, MA 02119.
Mission Statement
The Nutrition Lab, located at the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library, serves as the Library's hub for nutrition literacy. Through the use of programs such as demonstrations and hands-on classes, the Nutrition Lab provides learning opportunities for healthy eating and a space to develop life and work skills focused on nutrition and meal creation. The Nutrition Lab is a place to build confidence, meet new friends, and gather as a community.
Please note: The Nutrition Lab is a teaching kitchen for Boston Public Library patrons and the community at large. We do not offer this space for private enterprise in the culinary field such as teaching private cooking classes, product development, creating instructional or promotional videos, or a space for companies' team building activities.
Classroom Capacity
The classroom at the Nutrition Lab is designed for 12 students participating in a hands-on cooking class or for 15 students participating in a cooking demonstration. It is fully stocked with a collection of pots, pans, aprons, blenders, and other kitchen tools. (A comprehensive list can be provided upon request). Presently we are not able to offer A/V support. We do, however, offer use of a large screen for lecture material or to stream additional educational videos if need be.
