As one of the most successful actresses of the late 19th century, Charlotte Cushman was able to afford many of the finer things in both life and in death. Two years before her death, she purchased a large corner plot at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, where many of the historic elite of the Boston area are buried.
